The promenade between Echo Hill and the church bears the name of István Pisky. The castle captain of Tihany became known through a duel he fought with Ibrahim, the bannered agha of Balatonendréd.

The site of the battle was the ice of Lake Balaton, which grew so thick that winter that it could withstand the two combatants and their entourage. They fought each other on the ice, where Pisky was seriously injured, but in the end Ibrahim could not defeat the castle defend-er. After that, István Pisky entered history for good as the brave man who defeated one of the greatest Turkish leaders. The Tihany pier can be admired from the promenade. The large part of the eastern basin of Balaton stretches out in front of us in an incredible panorama. The Pisky Promenade was rebuilt in 2012, within the framework of the Tihany Legenda Pro-ject. The parapet was raised, covered with Tihany stone, and new rondelles were created on it. The rondellas are also suitable for celebrations and events. A wooden cannon stands in one of the rondels, facing the neighbouring Balatonfüred, and on the retaining wall you can read the legend of the Tihany wooden cannon. The new decorative covering serves the com-fort and safety of pedestrians. Candelabras matching the historical environment were placed on the promenade.
Every year, hundreds of thousands of tourists enjoy the unique view from the Pisky Prome-nade.
From the promenade, you can admire the most beautiful harbour of Balaton, a slender curved pier built between 1909-1911 based on the plans of Dezső Káli Nagy. A beautiful panorama unfolds before us, as the whole of Balatonfüred, but also many settlements on the southern coast, can be seen. If we look to the left, we can see Balatonfüred, whose natural and historical diversity attracts many tourists to the city. The reform period played the big-gest role in the life of the city with a long history. At that time, many famous people visited Füred and left their handprints here for posterity. The reform-era part of town has been ren-ovated and awaits its guests with many interesting features. Without forgetting the natural values of the city, we cannot miss to mention the Lóczy cave, the Jókai Mór lookout or the numerous sour water springs. Opposite, slightly to the left, you can see Siófok, the capital of the southern coast. Its symbol is the forty-five-meter water tower built in 1912 according to the plans of Árpád Guth and Jenő Gergely, which was recently renovated. Opposite, looking slightly to the right, we can see Szántód. Szántód's famous tourist attraction is Szántód-puszta, which received the Europa Nostra award in 1994 for the preservation of its architec-tural traditions and the restoration of valuable monuments. The ferries leave from Szántód port to cover the distance of about 1.5 km in ten minutes. The ferries form a bridge between Tihany and Szántód. They also work in winter, until Lake Balaton freezes over. Hundreds of thousands of passengers and vehicles cross here every year.
